A Correspondence Course for students appearing in the JOINT CSIR-UGC JRF and Lecturership Examination. We are conducting Correspondence courses for the following Science subjects:

Multiple Choice Questions will be asked from all branches of your subject. Hence an in-depth study of the total subject will put one at ease in solving this paper.

  • Detailed notes covering the entire syllabus along with typical examples and questions are provided in our material. Additionally, Multiple Choice Questions with solutions/hints/ answers as per the exam point of view will be provided towards the end of the course.

About Joint CSIR – UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship & Lecturership

Eligibility: 1. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) for General and OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST/PH/VH candidates in Master’s Degree examination; 50% for Ph.D. degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th Sept. ’91.

2. Candidates who are in the final year of M.Sc. or equivalent examination can also apply for the test. However, such candidates will be considered eligible for JRFs/LS only after they have passed the Master’s Degree examination or equivalent with at-least 55% marks in the relevant or related subject.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for admission to the eligibility test is as under:

(a) For Junior Research Fellowship:
28 years for December/June of the corresponding years’ exam, relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, physically handicapped, visually handicapped and women applicants.

(b) For Lecturership: There is no upper age limit for lecturership. The minimum age limit is 19 years.

    • The test will consist of a single paper of MCQ’s of 3 hours duration. The test paper will carry a maximum of 200 marks. The question paper shall be divided into three parts:

      Part ‘A’ shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing 20 questions of General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Analytical & Numerical Ability, Series formation etc. The candidate shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

      There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer.

      Part ‘B’ shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice Questions. The total marks allocated to this section generally will be 70 – 75 out of 200.

      There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences

      Part ‘C’ shall contain questions that may test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/ or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical natural where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 95 – 100 out of 200.

      There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
